The aim of the research programme is the utilization of perlite proccessed products and the development of low cost and enviromentaly friendly ready-mixed materials(structural mortar, render, grout), compatible with the historic ones, for restoration purposes.

The workshop titled “Lime based materials for repairing historic Structures” has been decided in the frame of RILEM TC 277-LHS, which has started its activities in October 2017. The scope of it is to create an interactive forum with academics, researchers, professionals, other stakeholders for presenting the work done and have a feedback from the real needs of practice. Unified and harmonized test procedures specific for lime based repair materials are promoted for the upgrading of the quality of repair works and facilitating the market of these materials. Distinguished scientists will participate as invited speakers. The core members of RILEM TC 277-LHS who were also members of previous RILEM TCs, TC 157-COM, TC 203-RHM, TC 243-SGH wish this workshop to be devoted to the memory of the distinguished members of the aforementioned previous RILEM TCs who passed away: Prof. Luigia Binda, Polytecnico di Milano, Dr Eric F. Hansen, Getty Conservation Institute, Dr Thorborg Von Konow, Conservation Institute, Finland.
EUROCOALASH is an international conference for promoting the use of Coal Combustion Products (CCPs) in the construction industry in Europe and all over the world. In 2021, the EUROCOALASH will be hosted in Thessaloniki, Greece, organized by the Laboratory of Building Materials of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the European Coal Combustion Products Association.
The Conference aims to bring together participants from industry, research and academic backgrounds. Date 2-4 November, University Research Dissemination Center (KEDEA), Thessaloniki, Greece.
